The role works in conjunction with the Director of Nursing Services in managing nursing services and requires organizational skills, goal‑oriented focus, and a commitment to excellence. Essential Functions Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and manages the day‑to‑day operations of the nursing department, including staffing requirements, quality assurance, and monitoring of resident care. Makes regular rounds daily to observe operations and recommend corrections as needed, ensuring resident rights, safety, and infection control protocols are maintained. Collaborates with the quality assurance nurse to review and analyze resident incident reports and initiate corrective action. Supervises daily staffing requirements, reallocating staff as needed to ensure compliance with duties. Attends Medicare and Care Plan meetings. Participates in the facility’s Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program, completing audits and reporting results. Assumes duties of Director of Nursing in his/her absence. Rotates on‑call duties as assigned. May be required to work floor as a staff nurse in the event of a nursing shortage. Qualifications Hold an LPN or RN license in the state of Missouri.
