Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care Unit (CCU)

Position Overview

This position is a Weekends Only role for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Critical Care. The selected candidate will work primarily in the Critical Care Unit (CCU), providing high-quality patient care for critically ill patients.

Unit Specifics

Number of Beds: 20
Patient Ratios: 2:1 for CCU patients
Staffing Description: Unit secretary available on days and nights, with occasional tech support.
Type of Equipment: GE monitors, Alaris pumps, Puritan Bennett ventilators
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements: 36 hours per week, 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
Floating Policy: Contract labor will float before core staff
Patient Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience

Qualifications

Required Skills:

1 year of critical care experience
Experience with Meditech
ACLS certification
NIH certification

Advanced Skills Needed: Ability to manage arterial lines, venous/arterial sheaths, cardiovascular & vasopressor drips, and ventilated patients.
Procedures Performed on Unit: Bedside central line placement, Massive transfusion protocol.
Certifications Required: ACLS

Dress Code

Black scrubs are required for this position.
