Application Engineer – Electronics & Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the Role

Join a global applications engineering team where you’ll play a key role in helping customers solve complex manufacturing challenges. As an Application Engineer , you’ll provide technical guidance, troubleshoot advanced process issues, and develop tailored solutions that demonstrate the value of our products and technologies.

You’ll work hands‑on with cutting‑edge equipment, support customer trials, contribute to new product introductions, and collaborate across engineering, sales, and product teams. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys problem‑solving, customer interaction, and working independently in a fast‑paced technical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver technical and application suppor t to customers and internal teams
  • Troubleshoot complex process and system issue s and recommend effective solutions
  • Evaluate customer requirement s and develop proposals, presentations, and application recommendations
  • Support customer training program s during beta and controlled product launches
  • Assist with pre‑ and post‑sales engagemen t, including site visits, virtual support, and process development
  • Plan and execute lab trials, demos, and DOE s to validate product performance
  • Provide post‑installation suppor t, including optimization and troubleshooting
  • Participate in FAT/SAT activitie s and support customer production ramp‑ups
  • Support new product introduction (NPI ) and internal readiness activities
  • Assist in design, specification development, testing, and documentatio n for product initiatives
  • Operate and maintain demo and engineering lab equipmen t for testing and evaluations
  • Support quoting, NSQ/RFQ requests, and upgrade proposals
  • Participate in software/hardware testin g, including bug identification and validation
  • Gather Voice of Customer feedbac k to drive continuous improvement
  • Create and maintain technical documentatio n, including manuals and application notes
  • Support trade shows and marketing event s through demos and customer interaction

What You Bri

  • Bachelor’s degree i n Engineeri ng
  • 2–3 years of experien ce in SMT or semiconductor applications, or equivalent field service experience.
  • Working knowledge o f statistical too ls for process development and control
  • Ability to develo p process engineering test pla ns and procedures
  • Foundational understanding o f electro‑mechanical syste ms (electrical, mechanical, software
  • Familiarity wit h manufacturing quality standar ds and workmanship requirements
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and production environments.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity wi th electronics manufacturing proces ses (SMT, cleaning, through‑hol
  • Exposure to SMT line equipment such as reflow ovens, wave soldering, and cleaning syst ems.
  • Knowledge of materials used in electronics assembl y: underfill, adhesives, UV epoxies, solder paste, fluxes, cleaning age nts
  • Understanding of semiconductor applicati ons and related processes
  • Experience usi ng statistical to ols for process development and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and equipment quic kly.
