Peer Support Specialist

Peer Support Specialist
Provides peer support for behavioral health or substance abuse programs. Provides a variety of services to healthcare professionals and clients and assists in the attainment of short-term and long-term goals. Increases the utilization of community services and mentors individuals with behavioral health or substance abuse issues. Collaborates with internal staff and develops customized solutions.
This position will require successful completion of a Level II Background Screening. This position is Grant Funded.
Education
Essential: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Essential: One year of related experience. Must have a minimum of two years stability managing personal recovery.
Credentials
Essential: Certified Recovery Peer Specialist or within 1 yr of hire Florida Driver's License BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross
