Job Summary:
This opportunity in Largo, Maryland, is for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (CVICU RN) at a healthcare facility. The position involves providing specialized care to post-surgical cardiac patients, with a focus on complex cardiovascular conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The selected nurse must have extensive experience in CVICU or open heart recovery to handle diverse and critical patient needs effectively.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 hour nights, from 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Maryland RN license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years CVICU or open heart experience, and prior charge experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic medical record system, and one year of patient ratio experience.
• Additional Information: The role involves managing arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilator support, central lines, and advanced therapies such as intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) and Impella devices. Candidates must be comfortable handling patients immediately post-cardiac surgery, including those on ECMO, CRRT, or requiring direct critical care interventions. Flexibility to float within scope is required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and flu vaccination are mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in CVICU or open heart surgery recovery.
• Travel Experience: Required.
