Position: CNC Machine Shop Manager


Location: Clackamas, OR


Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour


Schedule:

• Full-Time
• Day Shift: Monday - Friday
• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

We are a manufacturer of precision machined components specializing in close-tolerance parts, assemblies, prototyping, production runs, and CAD design. As we expand into our second location in Clackamas, Oregon, we are seeking skilled professionals who are passionate about manufacturing excellence and collaborating with a team of highly experienced individuals from diverse backgrounds.

What You'll Do:

• Review engineering drawings and customer requirements to develop manufacturing strategies that ensure parts meet specifications from start to finish.
• Interpret and understand G & M code.
• Lead daily machine shop operations while maintaining quality standards, production schedules, and budget goals.
• Collaborate with management, programmers, metrology inspectors, and machinists to optimize production processes.
• Monitor production activities and make process adjustments to resolve issues and maintain efficiency.
• Coordinate daily workloads according to priorities and project timelines.
• Delegate responsibilities and projects to team members effectively.
• Train, mentor, and manage machinists and shop personnel.
• Promote and enforce safe operation of machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Resolve workplace conflicts and communication issues professionally and promptly.
• Provide regular project updates and status reports to management.
• Maintain compliance with company safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
• Read and interpret production work instructions, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.

What You Need to Have:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience machining complex parts, including weldments and fully machined components.
• Experience with both manual and CNC machining.
• Extensive knowledge of CNC machine tools, controls, and machining processes.
• Strong understanding of machine shop tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T specifications.
• Excellent machine shop math skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a hands-on leadership approach.
• Ability to develop manufacturing plans based on drawings or sample parts.

The Musts:

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret G & M code.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all company safety policies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring machine shop personnel.

Preferred:

• Previous experience managing machine shop operations, including scheduling and budgeting responsibilities.
• Experience supporting prototype development and production manufacturing environments.
• Strong background in process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
