Senior Product Manager

Houston, Texas | Hybrid, four days per week in office | Full-time | $150,000 base salary About BAM AI BAM AI builds AI billing agents that help independent physician practices get paid by insurance companies for the services they perform. We are hiring a hands-on Senior Product Manager to turn real physician-practice and billing workflows into trustworthy software. You will operate at the intersection of Product and Engineering, owning major product areas from discovery through product definition, prototyping, delivery, launch, adoption, and measurable revenue-cycle outcomes. This is not a ticket-writing role. You will identify the real problem, shape the solution, inspect product behaviour and production evidence, and help prove that what we ship works. What you will own Own product discovery and execution across insurance verification, prior authorisation, claim scrubbing, payment posting, denial management, appeals, and accounts receivable. Turn ambiguous customer and operating problems into product decisions, interaction flows, technical questions, and the smallest safe product slice that proves value. Build direct relationships with physicians, practice administrators, billers, and BAM operations experts. Maintain an outcome-based roadmap with explicit priorities, assumptions, dependencies, trade-offs, and exclusions. Write decision memos, workflow maps, requirements, acceptance criteria, launch plans, metric definitions, and post-launch readouts. Separate deterministic rules from AI judgment. Define confidence thresholds, review gates, exception handling, and evidence requirements. Own adoption and workflow outcomes such as clean-claim rate, denial rate, denial recovery, time to resolution, automation rate, completion rate, and exception rate. Partner daily with Engineering on feasibility, architecture implications, integration constraints, incidents, release readiness and technical debt. Own the user-facing workflow, including states, errors, recovery paths, accessibility, role-based access, instrumentation, and production validation. Use AI-assisted engineering to prototype, inspect implementation options, generate test cases, analyse behaviour, and accelerate iteration while preserving accountable human review. What we are looking for 5+ years in product management or a comparable founder/operator role, including ownership of complex B2B workflow products. A record of shipping new and scaled product work with measurable customer or business outcomes. Direct experience turning frontline operational work into software by finding the real constraint and removing work rather than digitising it. Product-engineering experience: you can move from an incomplete problem to a coherent experience, prototype, technical approach, and measurable outcome without waiting for a daily task list. Strong front-end experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js or comparable technologies. You can prototype or inspect interfaces, reason about components and state, define failure and recovery behaviour, and discuss testing, accessibility and performance with engineers. Practical understanding of AI product design, including evaluations, structured outputs, confidence, human review, deterministic fallbacks, cost, latency and failure containment. Practical experience using AI coding agents in product or engineering work. Experience in healthcare, fintech, insurance, payments or another regulated environment where software decisions affect money, access and compliance. Excellent written communication and strong cross-functional leadership. Agentic engineering, not vibe coding Agentic engineering gives an AI system a defined outcome, relevant context, architecture and security constraints, bounded tasks, acceptance criteria, tests or evaluations, review gates and verification—with a human owner accountable for the result. Vibe coding prompts until something appears to work without a clear specification, system understanding, controls or proof. Candidates should be able to explain that distinction clearly and show how they have used AI to accelerate product or engineering work without accepting plausible-looking output as proof. Preferred, not required Revenue cycle management experience, especially eligibility, prior authorisation, claims, payments, denials, appeals or accounts receivable. Experience with physician-practice software, EHRs, clearinghouses, payer portals, or X12 transactions. Experience with enterprise multi-tenant software, role-based access, audit logs or sensitive data. Experience taking AI or automation products from assisted workflows to carefully controlled autonomy. This role is not a fit if You lead through roadmaps and meetings but do not personally perform discovery, write decisions, inspect data or test product behaviour. You see the role as receiving requirements, converting them into tickets and handing them to engineering. You need someone to tell you what to do each day or are comfortable maintaining the status quo. You measure output by features shipped rather than completed workflows and customer outcomes. You accept AI-generated code, prototypes or analysis because they look plausible without understanding, testing and verifying the result. The process includes a CEO pre-screen, a product and technical interview, a culture and leadership interview and a paid $500 assessment with a group discussion.
