Ultrasound Technologist

Overview We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (Ultrasound Tech or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) to operate ultrasound equipment and produce images of patients’ internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. Your expertise in ultrasound technology, anatomy, and patient care will help deliver high-quality healthcare services. This position is on a per diem basis (PD/PRN) at Mission Regional Medical Center – Mission, TX. Shift hours are variable and will be scheduled as needed. Benefits Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan 401K Responsibilities Interact with patients to explain the procedure, obtain relevant medical history, address concerns, ensure patient comfort and privacy during the ultrasound examination, and assist with positioning patients to optimize imaging. Operate ultrasound machines to perform diagnostic imaging studies as requested by physicians or other healthcare providers, selecting appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images of the targeted anatomy or pathology. Use the transducer (probe) to transmit high‑frequency sound waves into the body and capture the returning echoes to create real‑time images, manipulating the transducer and adjusting imaging parameters to obtain multiple views and optimize image quality. Interpret ultrasound images in real‑time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues, identify any abnormalities or pathology, and collaborate with radiologists or physicians to provide accurate diagnostic information. In addition to conventional diagnostic ultrasound imaging, perform Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow patterns and detect abnormalities such as vascular occlusions, stenosis, or thrombosis. Qualifications RDMS (ARDMS) or S (ARRT) certification in at least one body or region required within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter. Graduate from an accredited ultrasound program or hold current certification as identified in #1, with graduation within 90 days of hire. Previous experience is preferred. Current BCLS certificate required upon hire and maintained thereafter. Proficient computer skills.
