Stratford School is seeking a reliable and responsible School Van Driver to transport students safely between Stratford Crestmoor Canyon in San Bruno and Stratford Middle School in San Francisco.
The School Van Driver will operate the school's ten-passenger van for scheduled morning and afternoon student transportation. The morning route will transport students from Stratford Crestmoor Canyon (2322 Crestmoor Drive, San Bruno) to Stratford Middle School (75 Francis Street, San Francisco). The afternoon route will transport students from the middle school back to the elementary school.
The ideal candidate is punctual, professional, dependable, and comfortable working with school-aged students. A clean driving record, safe and defensive driving habits, and a calm, patient demeanor are required.

- Position: School Van Driver
- Employment Type: Part-Time
- Pay Range: $20.00–$27.45 per hour, based on knowledge and experience
- Sign-on Bonus: $1,500 after the completion of 90 days of successful employment
- Schedule:
- Morning: 7:00–9:00 a.m.
- Afternoon: 4:00–6:00 p.m.
- Location: Stratford School Crestmoor Canyon, San Bruno / Stratford Middle School, San Francisco
Key Responsibilities:
Student Transportation & Safety
- Safely transport students between Stratford Crestmoor Canyon and Stratford Middle School according to the established daily schedule.
- Operate the school's ten-passenger van in a safe, responsible, and defensive manner.
- Maintain active supervision of students while they are entering, riding in, and exiting the vehicle.
- Follow all applicable California driving laws, school transportation procedures, and safety requirements.
- Ensure students remain safely seated and follow established van safety expectations.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and positive environment for students throughout each trip.
- Complete required daily van rider logs and transportation documentation.
- Communicate any student, safety, vehicle, or route concerns promptly to the appropriate school administrator.
Vehicle Care & Maintenance
- Conduct routine checks of the van to ensure it is clean, safe, and ready for student transportation.
- Refuel the van as needed.
- Report any maintenance, mechanical, or safety concerns immediately.
- Keep the interior of the van clean and organized.
Professionalism & Student Relationships
- Serve as a positive role model for students through patience, professionalism, and responsible behavior.
- Arrive on time and prepared for every scheduled route.
- Maintain professional communication with students, families, teachers, and school administrators.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school-related information.
Skills, Knowledge, & Education:
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Valid California driver's license
- Clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience transporting children or working with students is preferred
- Experience driving a passenger van or similar vehicle is preferred
- Must be comfortable driving and maneuvering a ten-passenger passenger van
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to enter and exit the school van repeatedly throughout the workday
- Ability to assist students as needed while entering and exiting the vehicle
- Ability to remain attentive and focused while driving
- Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency situation
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe transportation environment
