Wealth Strategist/ Client Development Sales Director

Overview The Wealth Strategist is a senior business development sales role focused on cultivating new relationships with ultra-high net worth individuals, families, charitables and other entities. You will build a client pipeline, share Northern Trust capabilities, close new business, and ensure a smooth transition of accounts to the respective teams. Responsibilities Develop and implement a business development strategy to target UHNW individuals, families and businesses. Conduct consultative meetings with prospective clients and their representatives, describing estate‑planning, tax‑planning and wealth‑management solutions. Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective clients, acting as their liaison to Northern Trust. Nurture internal and external networks (COIs, attorneys, CPAs, philanthropists) to generate new business opportunities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts to provide support and ensure client objectives are met. Work closely with the local brand ambassador program to represent Northern Trust in civic and philanthropic organizations. Qualifications 10+ years of sales and relationship‑management experience, preferably with wealth‑management clients. Strong network of Centers of Influence (COIs) for UHNW individuals and families, including attorneys, estate‑planning professionals, and CPAs. In‑depth knowledge of fiduciary services such as personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning, with an understanding of fee structures and documentation. Ability to profile a client’s financial landscape and recommend a full suite of Northern Trust solutions. Excellent analytical, communication and collaboration skills. Series7 and 63 licenses required; CFP, CFTA, CFA, CIMA strongly preferred. Benefits and Compensation Salary Range: Base salary $200,000‑$225,000 (good faith estimate). Additional discretionary bonus program, possibly including equity.
