Job Description:

NDi is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the FAA Chief Data Office Enterprise Information & Data Integration Program (EIDIP). The Cloud Engineer will design, deploy, operate, and improve secure cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure supporting FAA data, analytics, and application platforms across AWS GovCloud, approved commercial cloud environments, Azure, and hybrid infrastructure.

Requirements :

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• This position is remote, candidate must reside in one of the following states: AL, AZ, DC, FL, GA, ID, MD, MS, NJ, NC, OK, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV

• Occasional travel may be required. Candidates should be able to attend meetings at FAA facilities and other locations throughout the Continental United States (CONUS) as required.

• Must be available during Eastern Time (ET) business hours to support program needs and FAA coordination.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
• Must have a minimum 4 years of cloud engineering or similar professional experience
• Experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure in enterprise or government environments.
  
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud or AWS Commercial Cloud, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS, and cloud networking.
  
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation, operational monitoring, scalability, resiliency, and secure cloud configuration.
  
• Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Contractor Personnel Suitability.
  
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• FAA or other federal experience and experience working in regulated enterprise environments.
  
• Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
  
• Relevant cloud or infrastructure certifications.
  
• Familiarity with FAA security, governance, architecture, documentation, and change-management requirements.

• Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, backup, recovery, and configuration management

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and operate secure cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure supporting enterprise data and application platforms.
• Build and maintain cloud networking, Virtual Private Clouds, identity and access management, containerized services, serverless services, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, and recovery capabilities.
• Develop and sustain infrastructure-as-code and automation that supports repeatable environment configuration, deployment, scaling, and operational management.
• Support platform modernization, legacy-to-cloud assessments, migration pilots, cutover planning, resiliency improvements, and cost-efficient cloud operations.
• Support cloud security and governance requirements, including patching, vulnerability remediation, logging, monitoring, configuration management, and technical documentation.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, system documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks, metrics, and operational artifacts.
• Coordinate with platform, application, data, DevOps, architecture, and security teams to resolve incidents, dependencies, and implementation risks.
