Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License required
• Previous experience in a school setting as a Special Education Teacher preferred
• Deep understanding of IEP processes, special education best practices, and current educational strategies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, families, and staff
• Ability to conduct educational evaluations and develop individualized plans

Responsibilities:

• Provide special education instruction and support to students spanning kindergarten through high school
• Complete approximately 5-10 evaluations per year, ensuring timely and thorough assessments
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure cohesive support for students
• Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to accommodate various learning differences
• Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to thrive
