Technical Education Sales Specialist (Texas)-Salary +Commission

Position Overview As a Sales Representative for Matco Tools, you will drive sales and build brand loyalty by engaging with administrators, instructors, and students at key technical education and commercial accounts. Your role includes delivering presentations, closing sales, and providing exceptional customer service. You will manage on‑site merchandising and maintain the professional appearance of Matco Tools showrooms, regularly connecting with customers to ensure satisfaction. Additionally, you will coordinate localized sales promotions to boost product exposure and meet sales goals. Responsibilities include producing quotes, processing orders, handling transactions accurately, managing consignment inventory, and maintaining an organized environment. Schedule Monday–Thursday. The position will be performed within technical school storeroom(s) and is not performed on a Matco Tools truck. What You Will Do Acquire and develop sales revenue at assigned technical education and commercial accounts within the assigned territory. Establish customer engagement and brand loyalty with administrators, instructors, and students through in‑person activity at the assigned key account locations. Make one‑on‑one and classroom presentations, provide information, close sales, and perform customer service to all prospective customers at assigned locations. Manage on‑site merchandising, product displays, and the professional appearance of Matco Tools kiosks. Maintain regular contact with staff and students at assigned key accounts using the on‑site kiosks and classroom settings. Manage localized sales promotions and motorsports activity events to drive exposure and exceed planned results at assigned locations. Key Responsibilities Produce quotes, close sales, and enter orders using current methods and systems. Take full responsibility for customer credit card, cash management, and transactional accuracy. Provide timely and effective personal follow‑up on all RFQs. Provide easy on‑site accessibility for students and administrators on a mutually agreeable schedule. Manage consignment and budget product inventory for display, promotions, trade shows, special events, and other product demonstrations. Maintain a 5S workplace environment in kiosks and at customer events. Participate in the development and execution of short‑ and long‑term sales and marketing strategies with the Business Development Manager, Key Accounts, and/or Senior Manager of Commercial Sales. Qualifications High energy, people‑oriented with a strong sales mentality driven by commission incentives. Ability to close deals and drive sales revenue in a sales environment. Skill in building rapport with administrators, instructors, and students through in‑person visits. Comfortable and effective at delivering one‑on‑one and classroom presentations to varied audiences. Proactive in managing multiple accounts while acquiring new business. Proficiency in producing quotes, entering orders, and handling credit transactions accurately. Diligent in timely follow‑up on RFQs and customer inquiries. Ability to travel between campuses within the assigned territory. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Capability to manage on‑site merchandising and inventory appearance. Experience organizing and managing localized sales promotions and motorsports events. Responsibility for consignment product management and budget accountability for displays and events. Ability to work with management to develop and execute short‑ and long‑term sales/marketing strategies. Basic knowledge of automotive tools or industry preferred. High school diploma required; college degree preferred in business. Benefits & Compensation Base salary $57,000–$60,000 per annum + competitive commission plan (expected $15,000–$30,000+), resulting in total compensation $75,000–$90,000+.
