Groundskeeper 1Montana Technological University is looking for a hardworking Groundskeeper 1 to maintain our beautiful campus in Butte, Montana. Applications received after that date may be considered until an adequate applicant pool has been established.Duties:Grounds Cleaning: Clear trash across campus.Snow Removal: Plow streets and shovel sidewalks.Winter Traction: Apply sand to slick roads.Turf Care: Mow, edge, and aerate lawns.Plant Maintenance: Prune trees and plant greenery.Weed Control: Weed flowerbeds and spray turf.Soil Nutrition: Apply seasonal fertilizers to grounds.Sprinkler Operation: Run and maintain irrigation systems.System Winterization: Blow out lines before freezing.Equipment Care: Service and repair landscaping tools.Heavy Lifting: Move campus office furniture safely.Event Prep: Set up chairs for graduation.Student Leadership: Guide summer student work crews.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMust have a valid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of equipment, tools, and procedures of grounds construction and careKnowledge of operating grounds maintenance and grounds construction equipment and toolsOne year or more gardening and groundskeeping dutiesExperience maintaining large grounds preferredKnowledge of and experience repairing underground sprinkler systemsPhysical Demands:Lift up to 50 pounds: Move heavy campus supplies like ice melt and fertilizer and other general groundskeeping materials.May be required to Lift up to 75 pounds: Move heavy mailroom packages and furniture across campus.May be required to Lift over 150 pounds (with help): Work with teammates to move very large items.Daily movement: Walk long distances across campus, bend down, kneel, and work outside in all weather.Application Requirements:For full consideration application materials must be complete.
