Mid-Level Scientist

Opportunity Tetra Tech, Inc is currently seeking a Mid‑Level Scientist to work in our local Baltimore, MD office. The Scientist will assist with ongoing remediation project completion, management, and budget tracking. Essential Job Functions Assist with ongoing remediation projects including groundwater sampling, site investigations, and redevelopment support. Manage subcontractors and project budgets and communicate with project team. Interface with clients as necessary to complete projects. Assist with additional projects including Phase I, Phase II, and environmental site investigations as needed. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications BS degree in an environmental or science‑related field. 4–7 years of relevant environmental experience. Ability to maintain accurate field logs and communicate findings to the project team. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification. A pre‑employment drug screening compliant with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations. Working knowledge of health and safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in field environments. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Ability to travel and perform field work as required. Ability to walk across variable terrain, including uneven ground, in all weather conditions. Have full range of motion to support field activities (frequent walking, lifting, standing, climbing, and bending). Work Environment / Environmental Factors Position is based out of the local Baltimore, MD office with potential for a hybrid work arrangement; candidate must reside within 50 miles of the office. Field work will include outdoor activities year‑round with exposure to weather, terrain, noise, etc.; use of PPE and prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting may be required. Up to 50% of time may be spent in the office producing reports and collaborating on project progress. Additional Information Full‑time, Monday through Friday work schedule (40 hours); occasional extended hours may be required based on project or client needs. Work will be performed in a field and office setting. Target Salary Range $65,000 to $72,000. Pay considers education, experience, skills, location, qualifications and other relevant factors.
