RN PACU

Overview The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. Responsibilities Provide nursing care in the PACU, including monitoring and assessment of patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation. Collaborate with physicians and care teams as needed and ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout the perioperative period. Prepare patients for discharge with appropriate education and support.
