Overview You love animals and wanted to help them, so you became a veterinarian. After graduation, you experienced or heard about negative conditions at a corporate‑owned veterinary facility—corporate greed, overworked staff, and animal care not being the priority. Dr. Griffin, the owner of the Saltville Animal Clinic, saw these issues too. As a result, she opened her own clinic in 2020. We are thriving and ready to expand the practice. Location We are located in a small town in the midst of the mountains in an area known for its scenic beauty, ecological diversity, and outdoor recreation opportunities. Position Summary We are looking for a small animal veterinarian to join our team. The position starts part‑time with the possibility to expand to full‑time with benefits if the right person is found. New graduates are welcome to apply. This presents a great opportunity to work with an experienced mentor. Desire to do surgery is not a requirement. Responsibilities Work in a clinic that focuses heavily on rescue and shelter work and treats previously fatal FIP in cats. You will perform a wide variety of cases, including many surgeries—sterilization, mass remova­ls, soft tissue surgeries, stenotic nares surgery, and various ophthalmic surgeries. You will also perform dental procedures and use digital radiography. The clinic has a full set of in‑house IDEXX blood machines and is constantly looking for ways to expand and further serve our community, including possibly building a separate building for surgical procedures.
