Overall Responsibility

The IT Systems & Infrastructure Specialist role is both strategic and operational in nature. The Specialist is responsible for supporting and improving the company’s technology environment across all U.S. and Mexico operations. This role coordinates closely with outsourced IT providers to ensure system security, network stability, user support, and compliance with company policies. The position provides hands-on configuration of key systems (ERP, CRM, Microsoft 365), supports business automation and AI-enabled tools, manages IT assets, and ensures reliable and secure operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cybersecurity, Infrastructure & Disaster Recovery

  • Ensure the company maintains secure firewalls, strong cybersecurity posture, and tested disaster recovery plans.
  • Monitor outages, server health, backups, and escalate issues to outsourced IT providers.
  • Maintain VPN, remote access, MFA, and system security practices.

2. ERP, CRM & Business System Configuration

  • Customize CRM, ERP, and business tools using SQL, C#, and LINQ in collaboration with the ERP Analyst.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, user roles, and reporting.

3. AI, Automation & Data Analytics

  • Support AI strategy development with outsourced IT providers.
  • Implement automation tools using Power Automate, Power BI, and similar applications.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows with secure AI-enabled tools.

4. Vendor Management & User Support

  • Track and hold outside vendors accountable to meeting expected service levels.
  • Monitor helpdesk tickets, and escalate issues.
  • Ensure outsourced IT providers respond promptly to user issues in the U.S. and Mexico.
  • Coordinate new user/terminated user access for Microsoft, network, and Epicor.

5. Hardware, Software & Asset Management

  • Oversee maintenance and lifecycle of PCs, servers, network devices, and office equipment with assistance from the third party suppliers.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure compliance with purchase approval thresholds.
  • Review and renew contracts for internet providers, telecom systems, and related services.

6. Continuous Improvement & Technology Roadmap

  • Stay current with technology trends and propose system improvements with advise and input from third party suppliers.
  • Participate and when appropriate lead IT and infrastructure projects across all facilities.

7. Additional Duties

  • Backup other IT team members as required.
  • Maintain system documentation and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of IT systems, infrastructure, or application support experience (manufacturing preferred).
  • Experience with outsourced IT provider coordination.
  • Technical skills: SQL, C#, LINQ, networking basics, Windows systems, Microsoft 365 admin.
  • Experience using Power BI, Power Automate, or similar automation tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • English required; Spanish preferred.
