Job Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Seattle, Washington. This role requires a valid RN license, recent experience as an OR RN, and BLS certification. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred certifications: ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), ENPC, or OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Responsibilities Prepare the operating room, ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure. Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements. Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to infection control protocols and sterile technique. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow. Monitor the patient‘s condition during surgery, document significant changes, and notify the surgeon. Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring their proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols. Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic results. Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly. Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases, ensuring continuity of care. Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards. Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Reading, writing, and communication proficiency in English. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/motor skills to perform fine manipulation and assist with procedures and equipment. Mental ability to cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, and handle irregular activity schedules.
