Copy Editor

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Copy Editor who is passionate about magazine and book publishing and has a keen interest in the cannabis industry. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to the growth and success of our publications, while also being involved in shaping the direction of promoting new cannabis companies and products. Responsibilities Edit and proofread content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency Ensure adherence to our publication's style guide and maintain consistency in tone and voice Collaborate with writers, designers, and other team members to refine and enhance the quality of content Fact-check information to ensure accuracy and credibility Assist in shaping the editorial direction and strategy for promoting new cannabis companies and products Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in cannabis publishing Provide feedback and suggestions to writers to improve the overall quality of their work Help develop and maintain a strong brand voice and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms Conduct research and fact-checking to support content creation and promotional efforts Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing and promotional materials Qualifications Proven experience as a copy editor, preferably in the magazine or book publishing industry Strong command of the English language and excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills Attention to detail and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies Familiarity with publishing software and style guides (e.g., AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style) Knowledge of cannabis industry terminology, trends, and regulations is preferred but not required Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication and collaboration skills Creative thinking and ability to contribute ideas for promotional strategies Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field is preferred To Apply Your resume and a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and interest in the position Samples of your edited work, preferably related to magazine or book publishing Any additional writing or promotional samples that demonstrate your ability to shape promotional strategies We look forward to reviewing your application and working with you to shape the future of cannabis publishing! #J-18808-Ljbffr
