POSITION OVERVIEW

The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for assisting in the daily delivery of a wide variety of developmentally appropriate programs and activities. The individual in this role assists in the creation of a fun, engaging camp program by participating in all summer camp activities and ensuring that campers actively participate in camp programming. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the daily delivery of a wide variety of developmentally appropriate programs and activities. Assist in the supervision and discipline of campers participating in programs and services within the designated program areas as well as throughout the camp/clubhouse as deemed appropriate. Participate in collaborative programs, events, and field trips with staff from other clubhouse groups, staff from other BGCB clubhouses and community organizations as appropriate. Assessing our impact is critical to our work. All staff is expected to participate in various evaluation efforts throughout each program year, including the annual member survey. Secure and maintain materials, equipment and other resources belonging to the camp/program area(s). Maintain a safe and clean camp/program area. Travel between sites and to activities as needed. Other related duties as specified by Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Must be 18 years of age. Must be or become CPR and First Aid certified. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work evening and weekend shifts, flexibility to work extended hours Preferred High School degree or GED Experience working with children/youth

SALARY & BENEFITS

Salary - $22-$27/hr - commensurate with experience; along with a great work environment
