Powered by our people and our Partners, we amplify our effectiveness and our impact.DescriptionAs a Construction Claim Consultant, you will perform detailed analysis of construction claims seeking damages resulting from changes, disruption, preparation, and delays to a project. You will perform schedule analysis, change order review, cost estimating, damages analysis, and report writing. You will develop claims and expert reports under the direction of the Managing Consultants, with the goal of the new consultant signing reports, providing pre-trial advice to clients and attorneys, and providing deposition and trial testimony during litigation.Essential FunctionsWorks directly with attorneys and clients to foster relationships, understand and perform schedule and cost analysis, and issue resolution;Contract interpretation on scope, notice, schedule, delay, change order, and claim development requirements;Writing professional reports to be reviewed by the Managing Consultant;Other DutiesThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. EIT or PE preferred but not required;5+ years’ construction industry experience, including field workOutstanding oral and written communication skills and able to interact effectively with technical and non-technical peopleProficiency in scheduling and use of scheduling software such as, Primavera P6, Asta, or Microsoft Project managerGeneral knowledge or ability to perform:Time Impact analysis, contemporaneous periodic analysis, and as-planned vs. as-built analysisWeather delay analysisManpower and resource analysisAcceleration analysisGraphic development knowledgeDesire to learn forensic delay analysisGeneral knowledge or proficiency in Cost Analysis, such as:Ability to analyze cost and labor reportsLabor productivity analysisExtended general conditions cost analysisAcceleration and overtime cost analysisEstimate compared to actual cost analysisChange order cost and manhour analysisWork scope analysisDesire to learn forensic cost analysisConstruction estimate development and use of estimating softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and a team playerAble to work with finite deadlines and prioritize competing deadlinesThe ability to work independently, and as a contributor in a group environmentTrustworthy, honest, respectful, and flexibleStrong work ethic, as well as cultural awareness and sensitivityPhysical RequirementsThis position is physical in nature and the below are considered essential job functions: Lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, walking on roofs, entering and working in confined spaces, working outdoors in hot or cold weather, using necessary safety equipment, performing other duties that may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or squatting for prolonged periods of timeAbility to travel without restrictionWork EnvironmentThe functions of this role are conducted in both an office environment as well as in the field.
