Senior Associate - Specialty (Insurance Coverage)

Overview Clyde & Co seeks a highly motivated and bright attorney with ideally 6+ years of experience. The role requires an excellent writer who can proactively manage their caseload, act independently, and take on a leadership role within their cases. The Senior Attorney will work on complex insurance coverage litigation matters for international and domestic insurers, focusing on liability policies such as commercial general liability and insurance for industries that drive Southern California, including construction, energy, entertainment, and maritime. Responsibilities Analyze insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice and recommendations to clients. Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda. Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions with supporting briefs, and other legal correspondence. Prepare formal correspondence to opposing counsel and other parties. Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required. Education & Experience Excellent academic credentials. Admitted to practice in California. Admission to other states (particularly TX, NY, WA, or CO) is an asset. Ideally 6+ years of experience in complex insurance coverage litigation matters. Experience in commercial general liability and federal court litigation. Skills & Abilities Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to handle matters of a highly sensitive nature. Ability to handle time‑sensitive matters, sometimes several simultaneously. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly. Compensation & Benefits Attorney compensation for this position ranges from $200,000 to $240,000 annually.
