Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility Bragg East (Rotary Wing) located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanic without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: maintained and repaired rotary wing aircraft to include changing oil and hydraulic pumps, lubricating aircraft components, and a variety of less complex maintenance functions. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

• Physical effort: Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or endure recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching. Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Working Conditions: Work is performed inside shops, aircraft, or outside in varying weather conditions. Exposed to high frequency and high intensity noises. Dirt, dust, grease, and fumes are normally present. Danger of the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, falls, and eye or skin irritations is possible.

• This position requires a 1 year probationary period or 2 year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. • New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station. To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment.
• Recruitment, retention, and/or relocation incentive, advance in-hire rates, advanced leave accrual, and creditable service for leave accrual may be authorized when determined to be in the best interest of the government.
