Position Overview
A growing engineering services firm in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to support a variety of transportation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate on project teams for a variety of transportation projects
- Provide support and/or lead planning, design, and reporting efforts
- Oversee construction activities on transportation projects
- Manage construction operations and ensure project compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 5 to 15 years of experience in transportation projects including roadway rehabilitation, reconstruction, intersection and traffic signal design, traffic studies, and shared use path projects
- Familiarity with IDOT standards and procedures, especially Phase I / Phase II design and MFT requirements
- Experience with MicroStation and traffic modeling software such as Highway Capacity Software or Synchro is a plus
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or willingness to obtain
- P.T.O.E. license or ability to obtain within one year is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license
