This position requires close interaction between patients, the dentist, and other dental staff. The ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism and confidentiality are key components of this position. The assistant must be competent in assisting with preventive, therapeutic and surgical clinical procedures (i.e. dental prophylaxis, dental sealants, dental restorations, and dental extractions). Degree/License/Certification: Must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent. Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, Radiology Certificate, Certification in Basic Life Support. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Skilled in placing dental sealants Ability to assist the dentist with chairside dental procedures. Ability to prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
