UC San Diego Health has held its Magnet status since 2011. We are seeking a highly skilled and clinically grounded Nurse Supervisor to lead our Electrophysiology Device Team. This role is a blend of clinical expertise and frontline leadership, overseeing the daily operations of cardiac device management. The Nurse Supervisor directs the electrophysiology device team, providing expert clinical oversight for remote monitoring and complex in-person interrogations and programming. This position will manage the end-to-end workflow for Pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices, ensuring precise programming and timely triage of remote alerts. Key responsibilities include leading MRI safety protocols, managing pre-procedural device optimization, and coordinating in-clinic evaluations. The position is involved in ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and/or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing area(s). Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others. Responsible for unit daily operation, employee recruitment, performance evaluation, progressive discipline and staff development. Develops a strong culture of teamwork to ensure the quality of daily operations, effective interdepartmental collaborations, and the timely achievement of objectives. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California. Current ART certification, or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date. Three (3) years of related experience including two (2) years of recent RN experience working in an EP Device Clinic Expert-level knowledge of cardiac device programming and remote monitoring platforms. Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services. Must have ability to function in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while demonstrating professionalism, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to navigate multiple competing priorities. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions. Ability to at all times adhere to UCSD Health Medical Center (C.A.R.I.N.G.) Standards of Performance, and demonstrate the characteristics of professionalism in attire, attitude, conversation, behavior and attentiveness to others. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and team members and contribute to the successful achievement of the organizational and departmental goals. Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration (MHA) or related field. Charge Nurse and/or supervisory experience. Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $132,600 - $259,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $63.51 - $124.43 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
