Nurse Practitioner / APNP – Correctional Health Contract

Location: Portage, WI
Contract: June 22, 2026 – December 19, 2026
Length: 26 weeks
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Orientation: 1st week in Racine, WI required

We are seeking a Wisconsin-licensed Nurse Practitioner / APNP for a 26-week locums contract at a state correctional facility. This is a 4 day per week day shift role supporting primary care services within a correctional healthcare setting.

Correctional experience is not required, but candidates must be comfortable working in a secure facility and completing all required DOC clearance steps.

Pay Rates

Local: $105/hr
Traveler W2: $108/hr
1099: $120/hr

This is a primary care correctional health role. The NP/APNP will see patients for routine and problem-focused visits, complete physical exams, manage chronic conditions, order testing and medications, document care and collaborate with the DOC healthcare team. A strong fit is someone with solid primary care, chronic care, urgent/same-day assessment or FQHC/community health experience who can work independently and follow facility protocols.

Active Wisconsin APNP license
Active Wisconsin RN license
Current DEA license
BLS through the American Heart Association
Valid NPI number
Minimum 2 years of NP experience in the specialty field
Clear SAM and OIG
Willingness to complete background check, facility clearance, and drug screen
Availability to attend 1 week of orientation in Racine, WI
