Job Title: Emergency Department Inpatient RN Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: AM (07:00 – 19:30) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent medical-surgical, float pool or comparable acute care experience preferred License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS and arrhythmia certification required Must-Have: Proficient in EPIC Description: Provide care for emergency department patients who are admitted and awaiting bed placement. Responsible for caring for a diverse patient population in both inpatient and observation settings within the Emergency Department. The role allows RNs to advance their skills and knowledge in emergency care. The Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the region, treating patients of the highest acuity. The department features 108 beds, including a 19-bed observation unit, and treats an average of 109,000 patients annually. Nurses in this department are known for their quick thinking and ability to meet patient needs. The work environment requires flexibility, resilience, and teamwork to provide the highest level of patient satisfaction. The Emergency Department has been recognized for excellence in leadership, practice, and innovation in nursing and emergency care. A BSN degree is preferred; ASN/ADN RNs with relevant experience may be considered. All required time off must be identified upfront and accommodated within the contracted hours. Assignments may be given based on census and acuity needs. All call-outs are expected to be made up and scheduled accordingly. Scrub color will be royal blue with black bottoms.
