Director of Education Operations

Director of Education Operations Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Education Operations for a well-established, community-focused nonprofit organization. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity located in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the operations of a well-established educational program serving young learners and their families. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across program administration, staff development, financial oversight, enrollment, and daily operations while fostering a collaborative, supportive environment. The ideal candidate is an organized, relationship-focused leader who enjoys mentoring teams, improving processes, and delivering exceptional educational experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide leadership for the overall operations of the early childhood program, including staff supervision, hiring, coaching, evaluations, and professional development. Oversee educational programming, program quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous operational improvement. Manage budgeting, financial administration, enrollment processes, purchasing, and other business operations. Build strong relationships with families through ongoing communication, enrollment support, tours, and community engagement. Coordinate daily program logistics, classroom scheduling, facilities, and resources to ensure an exceptional learning environment. Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that empowers educators, supports families, and advances the organization’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field; advanced education is a plus. Demonstrated leadership experience within an early childhood education, preschool, childcare, or educational setting. Previous classroom teaching experience with a strong understanding of child development and effective learning environments. Experience overseeing staff, budgets, enrollment, and day-to-day program operations while building positive relationships with families. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Excel, and school or student information management systems.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This opportunity offers a competitive salary between $75,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, retirement benefits, paid time off, and additional employer-sponsored benefits.
