The normal setting for this job is a waste disposal site at our Arlington, OR landfill. Here’s more of what you?ll do: Receives waste samples, generates Waste Analysis Report (WAR), assigns and maintains sample tracking and data entry for Laboratory. Contacts truck driver to pick up paperwork when analytical testing is completed and disposal paperwork is approved, when required. Generates numerous reports, establishes and maintains section files, logs and records. Make and file approval folders. Assist Approvals personnel in updating profiles in AS-400 System. Responsible for inventory control function including researching potential products and vendors, preparing bid packages, initiating requisitions, and ordering supplies, equipment, PPE, chemicals, furniture, printing, etc. Assists Technicians and Chemist with laboratory procedures, by performing Tech I level parameters. Maintains housekeeping in work area. Reference site-specific procedures and more detailed site‑specific job descriptions. Performing other duties as assigned. Works independently, receiving a minimum amount of supervision and guidance on established laboratory procedures. Uses judgment when reviewing paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Must have a working knowledge of department practices and procedures, laboratory and sampling protocol, chemical terminology, and manifesting. Uses database and spreadsheet computer applications. What do you need to be considered for the role of a Lab Technician? High School Diploma or GED 1 year experience in the waste disposal business with emphasis on waste code utilization.
