Job Summary

The Registered Nurse delivers coordinated nursing care for patients or designated groups according to established standards of care and the nursing process. This role involves supervising and directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff and coordinating care with other disciplines, employing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.

Job Requirements

• Education and Work Experience:



• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Acute care facility experience: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required

Essential Functions

• Collects relevant data pertaining to the patient's health or situation.
• Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Develops a care plan with prescribed interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Implements the care plan, coordinates delivery, and promotes a safe environment.
• Evaluates progress toward achieving specified outcomes.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and caring environment.
• Provides educational opportunities for patients and their family members as well as team members.
• Offers direct health information to patients, families, and treatment teams.
• Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates appropriately and coordinates the responsibilities of healthcare team members.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
