Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

The Staff Software Engineer will lead the architecture and development of scalable, secure, enterprise-grade platforms and client-facing web applications for the Digital Experience team. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with deep experience in identity and login platforms, cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and modern web development.

They will define architecture, establish engineering standards, influence technical decisions across teams, and mentor senior engineers while remaining close to implementation and complex technical problem-solving.

Skills and Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant software architecture and platform development experience.

• Proven experience architecting and building large-scale enterprise platforms and client-facing web applications.

• Strong hands-on experience with identity and access management, authentication, authorization, and login platforms.

• Strong programming experience with Python, C#/.NET, and Angular.

• Mandatory experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, automated build/test/deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and scalable platform design.

• Experience with authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML.

• Experience with a major cloud platform, preferably AWS.

• Strong understanding of security, observability, performance, reliability engineering, and cross-functional technical leadership. - Ping Identity experience, especially implementing or modernizing enterprise identity and authentication platforms.

• Experience building shared platforms or common services used across multiple applications and engineering teams.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services and broader cloud-native architectures.

• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, Infrastructure as Code, and automated deployments.

• Experience establishing enterprise-wide architecture standards, technical roadmaps, and mentoring senior engineers.
