Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM

Rotating on-called schedule included.

SUMMARY:

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Supervisor for our Brentwood Shelter. Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep of both the interior and exterior of the property. The Maintenance Supervisor repairs and maintains the facility structure and equipment in compliance with Suffolk County regulations. This position oversees the maintenance and housekeeping staff, including staffing, scheduling, and performance management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and conducting supervisions and performance appraisals.
• Track inventory and inform Property Manager when an order needs to be placed and quantity needed.
• Maintain the exterior of the property by assisting with trash pickup and removal, sweeping, glass cleaning. 
• Maintain the interior of the property by performing daily cleaning tasks, including removal and replacement of trash, vacuuming rugs and washing windows and walls. 
• Prepare rooms for occupancy, including a deep cleaning of room and bathroom. 
• Removal of personal belongings left behind by residents after they move out.
• Daily disinfecting of the common areas, including but not limited to the staff break room, vending machines, front desk, time clock and elevators (in addition to any other assigned areas).
• Disinfect elevator cars and doors.
• Clean and disinfect staff bathrooms and offices. 
• Launder the agency provided resident sheets, shower curtains and towels.
• Maintain a clean, well stocked laundry area,.
• Notify Property Manager when the need for repairs or replacement of equipment and furniture.
• This position is essential to the safe and continuous operation of the program. Essential employees are expected to report to work during inclement weather and other relevant emergency situations to ensure uninterrupted care and support for clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field required.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires heavy lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to work overhead and on a ladder for sustained periods of time, and to bend and crouch to install flooring or seal tubs and toilets. Must be able to shovel snow from walkways. This position requires a lot of walking throughout the grounds and building, including going up and down stairs.
