Physical Therapy AssistantConducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Oversees physical therapy aides/technicians in performing treatment.Job ResponsibilitiesProvides physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.Documents treatment interventions given.Coordinates activities of physical therapy aides, students, and other support personnel.Supervises PTA students completing clinical rotationsSkills and AttributesRequires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.Works under minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Position RequirementsWork ExperienceNo experience requiredEducationAssociate's degree or higher in Physical Therapy Assistant required upon hireLicensure/Certification/RegistrationPTA - Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Kentucky required upon hire ANDBLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this positionOrganizational ResponsibilitiesSupports Owensboro Health's Mission, Vision, Core Commitments, and business interests.
