Hotel: IC - Chicago Magnificent Mile (ORDHA), 505 North Michigan Ave, 60611 Responsibilities Promote the image of the restaurant by displaying impeccable manners, diplomacy, and tact towards guests. Maintain constant flow of communication with and to the team. Set up tables according to standard. Remove dirty dishes from tables. Sort and exchange soiled linen. Welcome, greet, and seat guests as needed. Cleans and replenishes guest supplies. Restock stations throughout the day as needed. Prepare the bread station in the pantry (AM) or outside (PM). Assist with service when possible and/or as needed. After each meal clean properly the station and floor. Replenish cupboards with tablecloths, silverware, and glasses. Restock coffee station with cups and clean it after each shift. Perform related duties and special projects as assigned. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant in all areas. Communicate politely and display courtesy to guests. Communicate to manager any difficulties, guest comments, and other relevant information. Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships. Attend and participate in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled. Attend and participate in training sessions as scheduled. Help bartender to produce beverages according to standard recipes and control issuing of beverages. Prepare food and beverage material and equipment needed for the service in advance. Continue to restock the bar during the shift and ensure bartender has all needed tools. Keep the working area always clean. Clean and restock the bar after last call and ensure it is ready for the next morning; lock coolers and storerooms by the end of the shift. Perform duties noted on the daily tasks and cleaning schedule. Implement hotel and department regulations, policies and procedures such as House Rules, Health and Safety, Grooming, Quality, Service, Hygiene and Cleanliness. Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements and department‑specific training. Qualifications Must speak and understand English. High school diploma or equivalent. Food hygiene awareness and at least basic training. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to provide legible written communication. Friendly, upbeat and outgoing personality. Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow through. Clear thinking, calmness, and sound judgment to resolve problems. Can work under pressure. Can work an 8‑hour shift in all types of conditions pertinent to the job. Can work with all specified products and equipment. Can comprehend instructions. Works cohesively with coworkers as part of a team. Willingness to perform job tasks according to established standards. Flexible and able to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
