Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients requiring emergency and critical care, therapeutic treatment, invasive and non-invasive monitoring, diagnostic testing, and patient education for pulmonary and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Monitor and maintain respiratory equipment; participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Manage ventilator support, including troubleshooting alarms and adjusting settings per physician orders.
• Perform routine and advanced assessments, interpret data, and document findings in the patient record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, timely care, and effective weaning and wean-down of support as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, ventilation equipment, and discharge considerations; ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Active Michigan license as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT preferred; CRT accepted per submission notes)
• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA); NBRC credentials
• Comfortable with ventilators and monitoring EKGs
• Willingness to work night shifts in a hospital setting
• Travel-eligible; schedule includes every other weekend (Fri/Sat)
