This role involves working on a first-shift packing line in a climate-controlled facility, assembling and packaging small medical components and care kits while following detailed work instructions. You will contribute to a fast-paced production environment by performing repetitive tasks with accuracy, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting overall cleanliness and organization on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Assemble care kits and diabetic testing meters, including light assembly of products and associated literature or instructions.
• Pack shipping boxes accurately, including labeling, sealing, and palletizing finished goods for shipment.
• Stand at a designated workstation for up to 9 hours per day while performing repetitive packing and assembly tasks.
• Follow written work instructions and production guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
• Perform general 5S and housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Conduct basic quality inspections as assigned to verify that products meet required standards.
• Work collaboratively in a small team of 2–3 coworkers at the station to meet production goals.
• Maintain excellent attendance and adhere to a strictly enforced attendance policy.
• Apply basic problem-solving skills to identify and report issues with materials, equipment, or processes.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding work status, issues, and improvements.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–5 years of experience in packing, production, assembly, packaging, or general labor roles.
• Ability to stand in the same location for up to 9 hours per day.
• Ability to perform repetitive assembly and packing tasks with consistent accuracy.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documentation.
• Experience with packing, labeling, hand assembly, and palletizing.
• Strong attendance and reliability, with the ability to adhere to a strict attendance policy.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment alongside 2–3 coworkers.
• Basic problem-solving skills to address routine issues in the work area.
• Excellent communication abilities to interact with team members and supervisors.
• Knowledge of industry best practices related to packing, assembly, and general production work.

• Previous experience working in a climate-controlled production or packaging environment.
• Experience in the medical or healthcare products industry.
• Familiarity with 5S principles and workplace organization.
• Comfort with performing light quality inspections and basic visual checks.
• Ability to adapt to schedule changes, including overtime on Fridays and occasional Saturday work when needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled facility focused on kitting and packaging small components for the medical industry. You will work on a first shift schedule: Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with possible overtime on Fridays until 3:00 p.m. and occasional Saturday work if needed. During holiday weeks, the schedule reverts to standard 8-hour days. You will stand at a workstation for extended periods alongside 2–3 other employees, performing repetitive packing and assembly tasks. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to 5S and housekeeping standards, with clear work instructions and structured production processes guiding daily activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
