Senior Director of Operations

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: Dallas, TX preferred, with a hybrid work arrangement. We are open to remote candidates for the right fit.

Compensation: $135,000–$165,000 base salary + quarterly performance-based bonus

About the Role

Amplified Planning is entering its next stage of growth, and we're looking for a senior operational leader to help build the infrastructure that will support it.

The Senior Director of Operations will partner directly with the CEO to lead day-to-day operations across both Amplified Planning, a financial planner training company, and Guiding Wealth Management, a financial planning firm. While both organizations fall under this role's oversight, the primary focus will be scaling Amplified Planning by building the systems, processes, and operational foundation needed to support multiple business verticals, expanding teams, and future growth initiatives.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building and scaling. The right candidate will thrive in environments where systems need to be created, teams need strong operational leadership, and business complexity is increasing. They will be responsible for transforming ideas into execution while creating the accountability and operational excellence required for long-term scale.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Lead the day-to-day operations of Amplified Planning and provide operational oversight for the affiliated financial planning firm, Guiding Wealth.
• Build scalable operational systems that support the company's continued growth.
• Improve organizational efficiency by implementing repeatable processes, documentation, and operational standards.
• Ensure projects, priorities, and initiatives move forward on schedule across departments.

Team Leadership

• Manage and develop department leaders while creating accountability across the organization.
• Facilitate project management and leadership meetings, and ensure priorities are translated into execution.
• Coach leaders and managers on communication, delegation, and operational excellence.
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Systems & Infrastructure

• Own the company's operational technology stack and evaluate future systems as the business evolves.
• Implement and maintain project management processes that create visibility across the organization.
• Establish company-wide operational standards, SOP management, and departmental playbooks.
• Continuously improve workflows to support future scale.

Strategic Execution

• Partner directly with the CEO to execute the company's strategic initiatives.
• Help launch new business verticals, products, and operational initiatives.
• Translate high-level business strategy into actionable operational plans.
• Identify operational bottlenecks before they become organizational constraints.
• Support leaders and managers with decision-making and systems/structure needed to make change.

Strategic Partnerships & External Representation

• Serve as a trusted representative of Amplified Planning & Guiding Wealth in meetings with strategic partners, sponsors, industry organizations, firms, universities, nonprofits, and other external stakeholders.
• Attend select conferences, industry events, and partner meetings, helping strengthen relationships and identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.
• Partner closely with the CEO to ensure external relationships and opportunities remain aligned with the company's long-term vision.

Business Performance

• Monitor departmental KPIs and operational metrics.
• Build reporting systems that improve decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and customer experience.
• Support annual planning, forecasting, and capacity planning.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, this individual will have:

• Built the operational infrastructure required to support future growth.
• Enhanced project management and systems across the organization.
• Improved accountability through documented processes and operational rhythms.
• Created visibility into departmental performance and company priorities.
• Strategize and launch new business initiatives and revenue verticals.
• Reduced CEO involvement in day-to-day operations by creating a strong leadership structure.

Requirements

• 10+ years of operations leadership experience.
• Extensive experience leading & directly managing cross-functional teams in a growing organization.
• Significant experience within online education, SaaS, or digital learning.
• A proven track record of building scalable operational systems rather than simply maintaining existing ones, including but not limited to: project management systems, SOPs, and processes.
• Strong financial and operational acumen with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
• Experience supporting executive leadership and serving as a strategic thought partner and true second-in-command.
• Ability to travel to industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings as needed. Those not based in Dallas may require more travel.
• United States-based and authorized to work here. Dallas, TX based is preferred (not required).
