The Data Analyst is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting the reporting and evaluation efforts for A Precious Child's programs and services. This role ensures strong data integrity, effective reporting, and insightful analysis to measure and communicate program impact. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about using data to drive meaningful change.

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week. Flexible hours, hybrid schedule.

Reports To: Program Impact & Partnerships Director

Key Responsibilities

• Data Management & Reporting
• Run queries from APC's client database and Agency Partner Portal system (Captain) to generate recurring and ad hoc reports, support program operations, monitor organizational goals, and fulfill internal and external data requests
• Compile data from multiple programs and service-delivery models to produce accurate organization-wide, program-level, geographic, and demographic reports
• Build and maintain recurring reporting tools, templates and dashboards to ensure information is available when needed
• Data Cleaning & Preparation
• Clean, standardize, and validate data from multiple programs and sources to ensure it is accurate, complete, and ready for analysis
• Conduct routine data audits and identify inconsistencies, missing information, or other data-quality concerns
• Monitor trends and gaps in data quality and recommend improvements to data-collection and reporting practices
• Develop and maintain clear documentation of data definitions, reporting practices, calculations, and assumptions
• Data Analysis & Visualization
• Translate complex data into clear findings that support program planning, organizational decision-making, and continuous improvement
• Develop dashboards, charts, tables, and other visualizations that make data accessible and meaningful to a variety of audiences
• Analyze program, client, and partner data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
• Evaluation & Survey Support
• Support the development and implementation of organizational surveys and other evaluation activities
• Analyze and summarize survey findings for internal learning, reporting, and impact communication
• Recommend improvements to data-collection tools and processes based on findings and staff feedback
• Database Support
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for APC's client database and related data systems
• Manage routine system updates and configurations, such as updating service options, fields, reports, and user settings
• Maintain system guidance and documentation to support consistent use across the organization
• Collaboration & Capacity Building
• Collaborate across departments to understand data needs and provide reporting, analysis, and guidance that support program operations and strengthen data storytelling across the organization
• Develop tools, training, and guidance that strengthen staff understanding and use of data
• Present technical information and findings in clear, approachable language for audiences with varying levels of data experience
• Promote consistent, thoughtful use of data for planning, learning, and decision-making
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field (Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in data reporting, analysis, evaluation or a related area preferably in a nonprofit, human services, or direct service organization
• Demonstrated experience cleaning, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data from multiple sources
• Experience supporting organizational databases or data-management systems, including reporting, troubleshooting, or system configuration
• Foundational knowledge of research methods and statistical testing
• Technical Skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, charts, data validation, and the preparation and analysis of large datasets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience using data-visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or comparable platforms
• Experience creating reports, dashboards, charts, and other data visualizations
• Experience building and administering surveys using SurveyMonkey or a comparable platform
• Experience working with client databases, case-management systems, CRM platforms, or other relational data systems
• Familiarity with statistical or data-analysis tools such as SPSS, R, Stata, SQL, Python, or similar tools is preferred
