Sr Domain Sales Engineer (Telco RAN - Field Ops)

The Senior Domain Sales Engineer – Telco (RAN Engineering and Field Operations) is a hybrid domain expert, technologist, and pre-sales solution professional who works directly with clients to shape, design, and validate solutions before they are sold and delivered. CSEs translate complex business problems into practical, scoped, and implementable solutions — and de-risk deals by demonstrating feasibility early. This role sits at the intersection of: Domain Consulting Solution Architecture / Hands-on Engineering KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Domain-Led Consulting Bring deep Telco (RAN Field Operations) domain expertise into solution design Map client processes, systems, and constraints into technical solutions Identify transformation opportunities aligned to business KPIs Build credibility with client stakeholders from operator to executive level Partner with account teams to shape opportunities early / proactive business development Translate client problems into clear, differentiated solution approaches Lead technical scoping, architecture definition, and solution design Create POCs, demos, or pilot solutions to prove feasibility and value Support proposal development, pricing inputs, and deal strategy Solution Architecture / Hands-on Engineering: Rapidly prototype integrations, workflows, or data pipelines Work across cloud, data, API, and AI/ML domains as needed Ensure solutions are implementable, scalable, and production-ready Ensure clean handoff from pre-sales to delivery teams Provide architectural guardrails and context for execution teams In some cases, stay engaged in early delivery phases to stabilize outcomes REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Domain Expertise The ideal candidate is a technologist in cloud, data, API, and AI/ML, with deep expertise in the telecommunications industry, bringing both technology architecture knowledge and hands-on industry process experience across: RAN Planning & Design Systems — Experience architecting or managing systems that support RF planning, capacity planning, coverage modeling, and site candidate selection — including tools such as Atoll, Planet, or similar network planning platforms, and how planning data flows into downstream rollout and operations systems. RAN Field Operations Process Knowledge — Working understanding of how RAN field operations run end-to-end: site acquisition, permitting, construction, equipment installation, integration, and acceptance — not as a radio engineer, but as someone who has built or managed the systems and data flows that support these workflows. Field Workforce & Work Order Management Systems — Hands-on experience designing, implementing, or managing Field Service Management (FSM) platforms (e.g., Oracle Field Service, ServiceMax, ClickSoftware) that orchestrate technician dispatch, work order lifecycle, job scheduling, and completion tracking at scale. Network Deployment & Program Tracking — Experience building or overseeing systems that manage large-scale RAN rollout programs — tracking site milestones, contractor performance, equipment readiness, and deployment velocity across thousands of concurrent sites. Asset & Inventory Management — Understanding of how RAN asset data (towers, radios, baseband units, small cells) is modeled, tracked, and maintained across network inventory systems, and how that data connects to procurement, logistics, and field execution workflows. Operational Data & Integrations — Experience integrating field operations systems with upstream and downstream platforms — ERP, GIS, network inventory, NOC dashboards, and project management tools — and moving that data into cloud-based analytics and reporting environments. Performance & Predictive Analytics — Familiarity with how field operations KPIs (cycle time, first-time completion rates, contractor SLAs, cost per site) are captured, modeled, and surfaced through dashboards or AI/ML models to drive operational decision-making. 5+ Years of experience in: Customer facing Solution Engineering Technical consulting or product engineering Experience with rapid-prototyping or accelerators for deals Selling through differentiated technical solutioning Solution Architecture / Hands-on Engineering: Strong hands-on experience in: Data platforms (ETL, streaming, analytics); Platform Engineering & Legacy Modernization Working knowledge of: AI/ML / GenAI use cases (not theoretical—applied understanding) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 12+ years of technical and domain experience.
