Ophthalmic Technician

Lead Ophthalmic TechnicianA busy ophthalmology practice is seeking an experienced Lead Ophthalmic Technician to provide clinical support while helping guide and mentor the technician team. This is a working lead role that combines hands-on patient care with daily team coordination, training, and workflow support. The ideal candidate has strong ophthalmic clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day leadership and support to ophthalmic technicians.Assist with technician scheduling, clinic flow, and workflow coordination.Train, mentor, and support new and existing clinical staff.Serve as a clinical resource for testing, procedures, equipment, and physician protocols.Obtain patient histories, perform ophthalmic testing, and assist physicians with patient care.Monitor clinic operations and help resolve patient, provider, and workflow concerns.Promote consistent clinical standards, documentation, and quality patient care.Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control guidelines.Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed.QualificationsMinimum of 1 year of ophthalmic technician experience.Strong knowledge of ophthalmic testing, terminology, procedures, and equipment.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.Previous lead, training, or supervisory experience.COA or COT certification (JCAHPO).Experience with EMR systems and medical office operations.System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
