Controller

Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role located in Westlake, OH, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations for Kendal at Home. This role manages the general ledger, prepares and analyzes financial statements, and ensures accuracy in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. The Controller develops and maintains budgets and forecasts, monitors cash flow, and supports strategic financial planning. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include supervising accounting staff, managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. The role also involves collaborating with leadership on financial reporting, supporting audits, and providing financial insights to guide decision‑making. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong financial and accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis. Candidates should possess skills in internal controls, compliance, and audit support, with the ability to maintain accurate records and adhere to regulatory and organizational standards. Candidates should possess leadership and team management skills, including supervising staff, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative, accountable work environment. Candidates should possess analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable financial recommendations. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders and work effectively across departments. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Several years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, ideally including experience as a Controller or in a similar leadership role.
