About the Role:

As a Therapeutic Recreation Director at Eastern Star Home, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional recreational experiences for our residents. Our 84-bed facility is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to lead our therapeutic recreation team. As a Therapeutic Recreation Director, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the delivery of recreational services by activity aides, providing guidance and support as needed

• Develop and implement a monthly activities calendar that is engaging, meaningful, and tailored to residents' needs and interests

• Plan and implement special events and programs that foster socialization, creativity, and community building

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized plans of care that incorporate therapeutic recreation services

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recreational programs, making recommendations for improvement

• Develop and manage budgets for recreational activities and supplies

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience in therapeutic recreation or a related field

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and train activity aides

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff

• Ability to think creatively and develop innovative recreational programs that promote resident engagement and satisfaction

• Familiarity with recreational therapy principles and practices

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes as needed
