It’s early in Tampa, FL. You sign on to the building automation dashboards and watch the Direct Digital Control (DDC) and Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS) come to life. Trend lines confirm the chillers ramped precisely at dawn; an alert pops for a zone running warm—you dive in, diagnose the sequence, and restore balance. By mid-morning, you’re collaborating with facility management and engineering teammates on a new energy-saving initiative. In the afternoon, you log maintenance notes, tune control loops, and coach a new colleague on best practices. Every decision you make reduces waste, improves comfort, and keeps our systems running at peak efficiency.

What You’ll Tackle

• Operate and continuously monitor DDC and EMCS platforms to deliver reliable, energy-efficient performance across the facility.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on controls and related equipment.
• Analyze system data and trends to spot anomalies, optimize sequences, and recommend improvements.
• Respond rapidly to alarms and alerts, troubleshooting issues to resolution.
• Partner with facility management and engineering to implement energy-saving projects.
• Maintain detailed records of performance, maintenance actions, and energy usage.
• Help train new team members on operations, safety, and control system best practices.
• Stay current on emerging building automation and energy management technologies.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree/certification in HVAC, electrical, or a related discipline preferred.
• Hands-on experience with DDC and EMCS in commercial or industrial environments.
• Strong grasp of HVAC fundamentals and energy management principles.
• Sharp troubleshooting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Clear, effective communication—written and verbal.
• Flexibility to support operations during nights and weekends as needed.
• Union membership or willingness to join the union is required.
• Proficient in trades and crafts for infrastructure.
