As our Rental Associate, you will serve as the face of Guitar Center in the store, greeting customers, qualifying their needs, matching their needs to the right product, and pitching and overcoming objections to close the sale. Able to step in to handle customer service issues. Initiative : Identifying opportunities & issues and following through on work activities to capitalize or resolve them. Learn quickly and take positive action without being requested to do so. Develop knowledge and skills including product, store operations, sales, and leadership. Interpersonal Communication : Communicating through various means (written and verbal) with diverse individuals, including internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a clear, concise, positive, and courteous manner. Demonstrating respect to others, surroundings, and self. Selling : Working through the GC certification program to gain a base understanding of products and sales techniques. Responsibilities Directly responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the rentals department. Clienteling/build relationships with customers to fulfill future service needs and create repeat customers. Contact local vendors and companies via phone and email to drive business needs. Reach sales targets on services. Demonstrate product and service knowledge to customers. Work cross‑functionally with sales associates to support customers and guide them through the sales process as needed. Additional duties as assigned. Requirements Previous experience in retail operations and/or sales or previous experience within a rental business. Strong orientation towards providing excellent customer service. Strong organization skills and high attention to detail. Must be able to pull and lift gear that weighs up to 40 lbs. Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferences Intermediate knowledge of Musical Instruments sold within Guitar Center (Guitars, Drums, Tech, etc.). Previous experience with Livesound & Backline.
