About the Role:

Calkins Hehl Rafko, CPAs, PLLC is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team in Monroe, MI. Responsibilities:

Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns

Perform audit, review, and compilation procedures for governmental and nonprofit entities

Prepare financial statements and related disclosures

Maintain accurate and organized client records and workpapers

Communicate with clients to gather financial data and resolve accounting inquiries

Stay current with changes in tax law, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

1-3 years of public accounting or staff accountant experience preferred

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax principles, and financial reporting

CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification is a plus

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines

Strong communication skills and a client-focused, professional demeanor
