Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Perinatal Float Pool Labor & Delivery position requiring cross-training across three perinatal units and a minimum of two years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital perinatal environment
• This is a Perinatal Float Pool position — nurses rotate among three units: JMC Labor & Delivery, JMC Postpartum, and Hillcrest LDRP
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• May be required to work one additional overtime shift per two-week period based on unit needs
• No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling permitted
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience required, with demonstrated competency in both areas
• At least 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in the specialty area within the past 2 years required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must pass a EKG exam (pass/fail, up to 3 attempts)
• At least one supervisory, director, or manager reference from within the past year on the relevant unit required
• A second professional reference from within the past 2 years (charge nurse, co-worker, or educator accepted) required
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Additional Information

• Cross-training and rotation across all three perinatal units is a hard requirement for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
• No RTO (time off requests) permitted within the first 2 weeks of assignment; RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration and cannot be changed once submitted
• Candidates previously employed by UCSD must receive facility approval prior to assignment — prior employment should be disclosed at time of consideration
• Must be absent for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler to this facility
• First-time travelers should check with their recruiter regarding eligibility for this position
