We are looking for a welcoming and organized Receptionist to support the Student Affairs Business Office in Newark, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position will serve as the first point of contact for students, visitors, and staff, creating a courteous and helpful experience at the front desk. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a busy reception area, handling incoming calls, and providing administrative support with accuracy and courtesy.

Responsibilities:
• Welcome visitors, students, and staff at the front desk and ensure each guest is assisted promptly and courteously.
• Coordinate check-ins for appointments and notify appropriate office personnel when guests arrive.
• Manage inbound phone calls, provide clear information, and transfer or redirect callers to the correct department or contact.
• Maintain an orderly reception area that reflects a well-organized and service-focused environment.
• Support daily administrative tasks such as scheduling assistance, message handling, and basic office coordination.
• Use Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams to complete routine communication, documentation, and clerical activities.
• Respond to general inquiries with a friendly attitude while ensuring accurate and efficient customer service.• Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk, or administrative support role.
• Strong verbal communication skills with a courteous and attentive phone manner.
• Ability to welcome visitors and guide them to the appropriate person or office.
• Experience handling high volumes of inbound calls and routing inquiries effectively.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office setting.
• Friendly, dependable, and attentive approach when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
