Position Overview

Kids Unlimited Academy is seeking a Behavior Coordinator Assistant/Skills Trainer to join our dedicated Behavior Team.

The Behavior Coordinator Assistant/Skills Trainer plays an important role in helping students develop positive behaviors, self-regulation, communication, and social-emotional skills. This position works closely with students, teachers, families, and members of the Behavior Team to provide consistent, positive support throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate has experience working with elementary-age children, particularly students who demonstrate challenging behaviors, and is passionate about helping students recognize their strengths and develop the skills they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group behavior support for students in grades K–5 using positive behavior interventions and supports.
• Support the development, implementation, and coordination of Functional Behavior Intervention Plans (FBIPs) and other student support plans.
• Help students develop and practice appropriate behavioral, emotional, social, and communication skills.
• Provide classroom and school-wide behavior support in collaboration with teachers and the Behavior Team and led by the Administration team.
• Maintain the integrity and consistency of KUA's established structures, routines, and expectations.
• Model appropriate behaviors, emotional regulation, communication, and problem-solving skills for students.
• Use verbal de-escalation strategies and approved crisis-intervention techniques when needed.
• Utilize approved behavior-management strategies and designated spaces, including the VIBES room, to help students regulate and return successfully to learning.
• Support students in achieving the goals and objectives outlined in individual plans and programs.
• Supervise and support students throughout the school day, including in classrooms, during recess and lunch, and in other school settings.
• Participate in student-support, planning, and team meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student behavior and support services.
• Communicate and partner with families in a manner consistent with Kids Unlimited Academy's philosophy and values.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other members of the student-support team.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring:

• Experience supporting elementary school-age children in a behavior-support setting .
• A genuine passion for working with children and helping students with challenging behaviors succeed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations.
• An understanding of positive behavior supports, de-escalation, and student-centered intervention strategies.
• The ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students and families.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative school team.
• Physical ability sufficient to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Requirements

• Obtain a charter license or hold a valid TSPC teaching license
• Prior behavior-support experience with elementary-age children is required.
• Must be able to pass a required background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt 12 months

Wage Rage: $58,219.00-$65,000.00 per year DOE

Work Type: In Person

Schedule: Monday-Friday/ 8 Hour Shifts
